See. is the result of a series of songs I wrote during the Covid period of lockdowns and restrictions. The songs were all written and played in Open C tuning (the title "See." being partly a play on words).

The songs were written piecemeal, as vocal/guitar songs to play at open mic nights, but I felt that when playing and singing together I won't really able to make the best use of each of those skills. So, I decided to record everything and try and do it properly :-)

I was fortunate to have a couple of dear friends help out with their instrumental talents - David Bouet has been part of my musical world since 1995, and even though we now Iive at the opposite ends of the earth from each other, hearing his playing on these tracks fills me with the same delight that standing onstage with him night after night has always done. Richard Pratley is my oldest friend and musical companion - I played my first notes onstage with him and we wrote our first songs together. After all this time, somehow we both ended up living 10mins away from each other on the other side of the world. I'm a fussy customer (but only sometimes!) and Rich did a great job deciphering what the bass could do on these pieces. Thank you guys!!

When looking for a front cover for this album, I turned first to my Mum, whose art always fills me with inspiration. I found the painting on her website, and am very lucky to now have the original hanging on my wall - I love it!
